I had to extend my trip for a couple of weeks so that Digger would be old enough to take back with me to Switzerland. I bought a medium sized kennel for him to travel in, which was expansive when he was still a puppy, and still big enough to use later when he was full grown. He would make two or three trips back to America in it. When I picked up the kennel at the baggage claim in Zurich, his padding was all wet, either because his drinking water had spilled or because he peed. He was only six weeks old. I now know how to deal with the drinking water problem - freeze it, and the dog can lick the ice and lap up the water as the ice melts.
